Ridge Line Sunrise Hike
A pre-dawn start, an empty trail, and the light arriving over the ridge.
HikingSunrise
The trail is quietest before sunrise and the light on the ridge is worth the early start. This is a steady climb on a marked path, paced so that the group reaches the top as the sun clears the horizon.
What to expect
- A pre-dawn meet-up and a short safety briefing
- A climb of roughly ninety minutes with two water stops
- Breakfast at the top, eaten as the light arrives
- A gentler descent on a different path
Good to know
The route is not technical, but it is a real climb. If the forecast is poor the host moves the walk to another morning and messages everyone the day before.

For participants
You will be walking for three to four hours with a steady climb, so a reasonable level of fitness is expected. Bring water, a layer, and shoes with grip. The group starts before dawn and walks with head torches for the first stretch, so latecomers cannot be waited for.
